Wellington Crew celebrates 2024
Live4Life Wellington Crew chatting with guest speaker Laura from Crew4Life
Showcasing the 2024 theme, “Speak Kind, you may just change someone's mind”, the event saw 36 young Mental Health Ambassadors gather at Nakunbalook Environmental & Cultural Education Centre in Sale.
Year 8 and Year 9/10 students from Sale Secondary College, Yarram Secondary College, Maffra Secondary College, Sale and District Specialist School, Gippsland Grammar and Catholic College Sale participated in the Live4Life program this year. Over 700 young people and more than 70 local community members have been trained in essential Mental Health First Aid skills.
The members of the Live4Life Crew were congratulated on the amazing job they did in the inaugural year of Live4Life Wellington and met with Laura from Crew4Life to learn about her experiences with the program. Laura spoke at the Crew's induction earlier in the year and was delighted to reconnect with the young people again.
"It was a great day to get to see how much the Crew had bonded and grown over the year. I felt so lucky to be able to have this full circle moment and finish the year on a fun note!"
The day included a guided wellness walk around Lake Guyatt with Wellington Shire Council Sustainability Officer Sharon Ray. After pizza for lunch, the group welcomed back The East Gippsland Dog Obedience Club and their beautiful therapy dogs.
Congratulations to the Crew on a fabulous first year of Live4Life!
