Youth mental health first aid training to empower Benalla
News story from Benalla Ensign published 13 April 2026
Students from Benalla P-12 College, FCJ College and the Australian Christian College will take part in teen mental health first aid training thanks to a partnership between council and Live4Life.
Benalla Rural City Council, in partnership with the Live4Life program, is inviting community members to take part in upcoming youth mental health first aid training.
Attendees will take part in a practical, evidence‑based course that equips adults with the skills to recognise and respond to mental health challenges in young people.
YMHFA training enables participants to identify early signs of mental distress or crisis and provide initial support until appropriate professional help can be accessed.
Those who complete all components of the course become accredited Mental Health First Aiders, able to assist young people with confidence, compassion and informed understanding.
