Changing the Narrative on Suicide — World Suicide Prevention Day

Image Description: Live4Life Crew Members from Wellington.

Today is WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY. The theme this year is "Changing the Narrative on Suicide".

Starting the Conversation around mental health and suicide prevention is not always easy but it makes a huge difference in raising awareness and emphasises the importance of reducing stigma.

We'd like to thank all the young people in our Live4Life Crew and alumni group Crew4Life who continue to act as Mental Health Ambassadors and support their peers by Starting the Conversation. They know the importance of these conversations and volunteer their time to help others and connect with their local communities — changing the narrative in rural and regional areas.

Encouraging open conversations can help in prevention. Every chat, no matter how small, can be nurturing — moving from a culture of silence and stigma to one of openness, understanding and support.
