Live4Life is proud to announce that our Community Champion for 2023 is Benalla Youth Development Coordinator, Stephanie Brack.
We were thrilled to present Steph with the Award on Saturday night at our Annual Dinner. Since commencing in the role in Feb 2019, Steph has passionately embraced the Crew component of the Live4Life model, successfully generating such enthusiasm amongst the students that the Live4Life Benalla Crew has grown from 14 in 2019 to 40 in 2023. Over 140 students have participated in the Crew during Steph’s tenure.
“I’m so honoured and excited to receive this award. Everything I do wouldn’t be possible without the amazing Live4Life Crews throughout the years and our proactive Partnership in Benalla," said Steph. "All the Crews I’ve worked with are such a great reminder about the positive impacts young people make in their schools and communities.”
Steph’s enormous achievements with the Crew are allied with her commitment to inclusiveness. Steph has worked hard to build a Crew that represents both of the mainstream schools in Benalla, with great success. Steph’s enduring legacy is summed up in the feedback from student wellbeing staff: “Involvement in the Live4Life Crew is now seen as aspirational amongst our students...They see it as a great opportunity.” Steph’s contribution to Live4Life extends to all aspects of the model.
Not only has she been a powerhouse coordinating the Partnership Group and leading implementation, she is also a Teen MHFA Instructor — a true champion for Live4Life!
