MEET CALEB, our LAP it UP Champion from Lancefield in the Macedon Ranges, who started swimming when he was just 6 months old at Palmwoods Aquatic Centre on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
Moving to Regional Victoria in 2018, Caleb will find any excuse to be in the water!
No matter the weather, he will find a way to swim. Caleb plans to become a lifesaver for his first job.
“Swimming makes me happy — I like to race and have been successful at division and regional events, including breaking the Kyneton High School Under 13's 50m breaststroke record in 2023,” Caleb says. “I am looking forward to more competition.” Caleb heard about LAP it UP at Squad training and his Mum found the flyer at work to sign him up.
“I started aiming for 600 laps but smashed that, so decided to aim for 1000,” he says. “This year I am aiming for 1500 which is 3.5 kilometres longer than swimming across the English Channel.”
What is Caleb looking forward to in LAP it UP 2023? “Smashing my target and helping people! Making my Mum swim laps with me, and making a difference for kids who are struggling.”
High five, Caleb! It was incredible seeing you swim your 1000 laps last year and good luck in the pool this time!
