Crew4Life get together in-person for the first time
Image Description: Crew4Life members and Live4Life staff at their first in-person get together in Melbourne.
On Saturday 27 April, Crew4Life from all over Victoria caught up for the first time in-person in Melbourne. For some, it meant waking up at 5am to make the journey. For others it was the first time they had been to Melbourne on their own. Facilitated by Live4Life's Alannah Sander and Rebecca Morecroft, it was a wonderful day.
Thanks to Crew4Life members for coming along so engaged and willing to participate, and contributing to the amazing vibe in the room — kindness, respect and non-judgemental attitudes.
"The excitement and ideas in the room were electrifying — so many passionate young people wanting to make a change in the conversations around mental health," Alannah said. "The best parts of the day were getting to know each other on a deeper level, and opening up about topics that are important to us. By the end of the day, you would not even know that everyone had just met for the first time."
A few highlights!
Bonny Scott, Live4Life's Marketing and Advertising Coordinator, did a great session on how to produce content for social media
playing Icebreaker games – creating a structure out of paper to house a Christmas bauble
lunch break – pizza was a success!
everyone mingling – all different communities, all different ages
reconnecting with each other
brainstorming social media content – so many fresh takes and ideas on how to tailor mental health discussion towards young people
We look forward to heading to the next stage and seeing how the Crew4Life content evolves.
