Live4Life Latrobe Valley inducts first ever Crew

A very important milestone for Live4Life Latrobe Valley, as 29 young people became their community's inaugural Crew members at the Live4Life Latrobe Valley Induction Day on 18 February.

Students from St Pauls Anglican Grammar School, Traralgon College, Lavalla Catholic College, Kurnai College, Berry Street School, Latrobe Valley Flexible Learning Option (FLO), and Lowanna College gathered at the Latrobe Performing Arts Centre, where they undertook a range of activities introducing them to their role as Crew and planning an exciting year ahead.

The day's program was facilitated by Live4Life Coordinator Jess, Crew Champion Talon and Youth Engagement worker Alannah, assisted by Crew support worker Taylah from headspace Morwell. The brand new Crew had the opportunity to hear from the Chair of Lead Agency, Latrobe Health Assembly, Tanya Rong, along with LHA Executive Officer Ellen-Jane Browne, who spoke about how proud LHA were of these first-time young volunteers, who have stood up to participate as Mental Health Ambassadors and leaders in their community.

The members of the Crew spent the day mixing across school groups and getting to know one another, while developing values, expectations, and working on a Theme for the year. Feedback from the young people at the conclusion of the day's activities reinforced the broader Live4Life experience that forming new connections and like-minded friends remains a consistent highlight of these inter-school collaborations.
