Kickstarting Live4Life Break O'Day in Tasmania — our first interstate community starts to blossom!

It was great to meet up with Fingal Valley Neighbourhood House, who hosted the first ever Partnership Group meeting for Live4Life Break O'Day, working closely with representatives from local youth, school and community agencies.

Cathryn and Rebecca from the Youth Live4Life team attended The Activation Workshop along with wonderful partner and community organisations St Helens District High School, St Mary's District School, St Helens Neighbourhood House, Fidler and Ford, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Break O'Day Shire and University of Tasmania. Thank you to St Helens District High School for providing the venue!

This workshop is the first of many with this evolving partnership as they plan the roll out of Live4Life in schools in the coming months, focusing on increasing mental health knowledge amongst students, parents, school staff and other community members to reduce barriers for young people seeking help.

The award-winning Live4Life model is the only mental health education and youth suicide prevention model designed specifically for rural and regional communities and Break O’Day will be Live4Life’s first regional community based outside of Victoria. Live4Life Break O'Day is funded by the Federal Government’s National Suicide Prevention Leadership and Support Program (NSPLSP).
