Arnold Bloch Leibler visits Live4Life Woodend office
Final year law students in the Arnold Bloch Leibler clerkship program posing out front of the Live4Life Woodend office with Adviser Annie Rowland and CEO Bernard Galbally
A cohort of clerks from our pro bono partners Arnold Bloch Leibler visited the Live4Life office on 5 December.
These young participants in ABL's clerkship program are in their final year of law, and the visit to Live4Life in Woodend offered an opportunity to gain an insight into the public interest law work ABL does, get an understanding of the issues that face NFPs and charities, and learn about the long-standing relationship between ABL and Live4Life specifically.
ABL is an incredible supporter of Live4Life, providing essential legal advice over many years, which historically has included assisting the organisation's transition to a company limited by guarantee and encompasses legal and governance advice in communities, capacity building, and risk management — major foundations for the effective delivery of the Live4Life program.
In explaining the importance of the relationship with ABL to grass roots impact on young people themselves, CEO Bernard Galbally presented an update on the vital work Live4Life is doing in rural communities. The ABL team also took the chance to get an introduction into mental health education from Live4Life Adviser Annie Rowland. Her session provided some tools and strategies for early career professionals – “how to look after your mental health and wellbeing as you start out on your career”, with a focus on self care, connection, help-seeking, looking out for one another, as well as tips for useful resources.
Following the visit, one of the participants offered this feedback: "I thoroughly enjoyed the excursion to Live4Life in Woodend. It was amazing to see the work ABL does on the ground for its clients...and how much of a positive impact the firm has on the organisations, families, institutions it works for. It was a genuine, thought provoking and lovely day."
We appreciate ABL and their team making the time to visit central Victoria. Continuing to deepen this relationship brings many mutual benefits and we thank ABL for all their valuable advice across our journey together.
