What a night! The work of Live4Life takes place across many rural and regional areas far and wide. The Annual Dinner offers a fabulous, rare opportunity for the Live4Life community to come together, including those that travelled from Tasmania and from all over regional Victoria, and recognise and celebrate the extraordinary work being done by so many to protect and improve the lives of young people.
And celebrate we did! A huge thanks to our incredible special guest, ARIA Hall of Famer, multiple award-winning singer/songwriter Paul Kelly, whose gracious words and captivating performance enthralled us all. As ever, our wonderful MC Brian Nankervis summoned an infectious joie de vivre, and it was simply inspiring to hear the passion and commitment to young people from newly anointed Live4Life Community Champion Cr. Des Hudson OAM. Former Mayor of Ballarat, and Victoria Police Youth Resource Officer, Des was instrumental in bringing the Live4Life model to Ballarat and his stirring speech was a brilliant reminder of the power of prevention in youth mental health.
Cr Des Hudson presented with his Live4Life Community Champion Award by Ebony Whitehouse of MHFA Australia
We extend our appreciation to event supporters Bindi Wines, Holgate Brewhouse, Macedon Ridge Estate, TarraWarra Estate, Splitrock, Tiro and Shout Out Loud — as well as to the Hon. Andrew Giles MP, Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas MP, Parliamentary Secretary Paul Edbrooke MP, Mayor of Macedon Ranges Dom Bonnano, and Mayor of South Gippsland John Schelling for their attendance. Thank you also to McQueens Wood Fired Pizza of Woodend and the Fielding Family who made a hugely generous donation of $10,000 on the night!
The Live4Life Dinner is a truly special occasion and it was a joy to share it with so many generous, supportive members of our community who care deeply about the future of young people.
Next year we will be celebrating 10 years of Live4Life as an organisation. See you all then!
