Successful applicants will then need to complete a comprehensive online application process through Mental Health First Aid Australia (MHFA) in order to be approved to be trained as an Instructor. Please make yourself familiar with this process here

We suggest you save your responses to this EOI to expedite this next step in the process. MHFA Australia has the ultimate approval, we can not guarantee a position in Instructor Training delivered by MHFA.

1. Demonstrated experience of working with young people and adults and ability to build safe and supportive environments.

2. Demonstrated ability to deliver the training within your current work commitments

This would include delivery of Teen MHFA to a minimum of four to six class groups of young people over each year (approximately 20-30 hours) OR delivery of Youth MHFA to two complete course groups each year (approximately 40 hours) Please note, if your application is successful, you may be required to provide a support letter from your employer.

3. Demonstrated high skill level in public speaking and being able to communicate with different audiences

4. Demonstrated experience in facilitating and managing groups.

5. An understanding of adolescent development, youth mental health and an understanding of support systems in your community.

6. Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence and critical reflection.

7. Evidence that you live in, work in or have a significant connection to Glenelg.
