Live4Life Moira Celebration

September saw the Live4Life Moira Crew & Partnership Group mark the year’s achievements with a spectacular Mental Health Expo at Cobram Sports Stadium.

450 Year 8 students from across the shire came together to celebrate a year of Live4Life experiences, including completing Teen Mental Health First Aid training, as well as hearing from community organisations in the area.

The Expo’s theme was ‘With an Umbrella, we can face the rain together’ and featured tons of fun wellbeing activities, including photo booths, glitter tattoos, meditation, gratitude exercises, mindfulness practices, and a lively smoothie bike.

Thank you to the schools: Cobram Anglican Grammar, Cobram & District Specialist School, Cobram Secondary College, Sacred Heart College Yarrawonga, St Mary of the Angels Nathalia, Nathalia Secondary College, Numurkah Secondary College & Yarrawonga College P-12 for prioritising youth mental health.

And a massive shout out to the Community Organisations who came to support the Year 8s and provide valuable information. NCN Health, Yarrawonga Health, Dutch Thunder Wildlife Shelter, Junction Support Services, The Bridge Youth Service, Uniting Vic.Tas, New Remedy Therapy, Youth Live4Life, headspace Shepparton, Moira Shire Council, UMFC, Wellways, Cobram Youth Op-Shop & MHA Care.

The day also provided an opportunity for students to chat to Crew4Life member Jayce, who helped run the Crew4Life stall. Crew4Life offers a pathway for past Crew members to extend their mental health ambassador journeys in an alumni program which includes public speaking training and formal roles at Live4Life events.

Since 2020, Live4Life Moira has had over 200 young people participate in the Crew as Mental Health Ambassadors and over 2000 undertake mental health education. Great job, Moira!
