Hello, DEMI!

We'd love to introduce you to some of the friendly faces who support Live4Life and young people in our communities. DEMI comes from South Gippsland and first found out about Live4Life when she started working at South Gippsland Shire Council. "I couldn't believe what an incredible initiative it was and how lucky I was to be involved."

Why did you decide to become involved with Live4Life in your local community?

With a background in Youth Development, Live4Life seemed like the perfect fit. Supporting young people’s mental health and spreading awareness is something I am extremely passionate about and the Live4Life program provides an incredible platform for young people’s voices to be heard and real change on a community level to be made. There was no way I couldn’t be involved.

How does being part of the Live4Life Crew help young people's mental health and wellbeing?

It provides a safe and welcoming environment for young people to advocate for their mental health and for the mental health of the young people around them — encouraging young people to think about the ways they would like to be supported or the gaps they see that we might not and implement real change.

Name the 3 things you love most about your job.

  • working in an incredibly supportive environment

  • advocating for those who might not know how or where to start

  • learning from the experience of community members

DEMI is also a huge music fan and loves Ed Sheeran, Eminem and John Batiste! Thanks, Demi!
