Charlie’s story

 When Charlie was in year 8 Live4Life came to her school. The next year aged 15, Charlie hesitantly signed up to volunteer as a mental health ambassador in the Live4Life Crew.

At the first Crew catch up Charlie opened up to her peers and told them she had been going through her own mental health challenges. Through her experience with the Crew, she sought help, and gained confidence among her peers. She gained valuable new skills and, learnt more about herself.

Charlie’s passion is poetry. She wrote “No rain, no rainbow” to express her thoughts, feelings and challenges. Her poem has inspired others to seek help

Now Charlie has finished school she is undertaking a full-time cadetship at a local newspaper, and continues to be an incredible mental health ambassador for young people in her local community.
