LAP it UP WRAP UP $38,050 raised

The results are in for LAP it UP! The remarkable final tally is $38,050 — making a big splash for Youth Live4Life!

LAP it UP challenges participants to swim as many laps as they can in 15 days and helps promote awareness of youth mental health and suicide prevention in rural and regional communities — all while raising valuable funds and getting super-fit too!

Swimmers came from all around Australia, 1–15 October, with many young people in rural and regional areas taking part. Young LAP it UP Champions Matilda from Portland and Caleb from Macedon Ranges, came first and second on the Leaderboards. What an incredible achievement!

FUN FACTS:

  • 75% of LAP it UP participants came from rural areas and 25% from metro areas

  • Young people had the highest rate of participation with 13% of participants 10 years of age and under and 23% of participants 17 years of age and under!

We’d like to THANK all of you who participated with such commitment, enthusiasm and perseverance, both in and out of the water!

Although the official 15 days for counting laps are over, we really hope you will continue to swim over the coming months! It is such a great way to care for your physical and mental health and wellbeing.

We look forward to seeing you back in the pool in 2024 — making a splash for youth mental health and suicide prevention — and with more participants joining up from different parts of Australia, it’s already promising to be an exciting event next year.

Remember to invite your friends and family to participate, either individually or as part of a team. It’s a great way to join in and also helps keep your momentum going. Thanks again for all your support!
