Live4Life Macedon Ranges Celebration

Image Description: Live4Life celebration at Braemar College with Crew and activities.

October saw the Live4Life Macedon Ranges community pack out the theatre at Braemar College for a grand celebration of the year’s achievements.

Celebrations are important events in the Live4Life calendar — not just to recognise the accomplishments of the students and the Crew in particular, but also to reinforce Teen Mental Health First Aid key messages and provide opportunity for young people to discover local support and community services. Over 600 Year 8s in attendance reflected on the 2023 theme ‘Self-care is not selfish’.

Guest speaker Ruth Clare provided her own personal experience and insights around this theme. Macedon Ranges Crew4Life member Matilda shared memories of being part of the Crew and what the experience meant for her, not only at the time, but the lasting benefits she recognised later in school and beyond!

Students also enjoyed a range of fun activities facilitated by Partnership Group members and other local organisations, further illustrating the whole-of-community approach that underpins the Live4Life model. Congratulations to the Year 8s and Macedon Ranges Crew!
