Nick Glass, a Year 11 student from Ballarat High School, rode his motorbike almost 300km and raised $500 for Youth Live4Life Ballarat.

Ballarat High School student Nick Glass, who is also completing a school-based apprenticeship as an Electrician with Ballarat Electrical Company P/L, raced in the Penrite Hattah Desert Race 2023 and raised $500 through a number of sponsors and has generously donated the raised funds to Youth Live4Life Ballarat.

Nick’s donation will go towards Mental Health First Aid training for adults supporting young people in the Ballarat community. Live4Life launched in Ballarat in March and has successfully rolled out Teen Mental Health First Aid training to 1100 Year 8 students. With an estimated further 3600 Year 8 and Year 10 students to receive training in 2024.

The Live4Life model has been proven to make communities more knowledgeable, networked and resilient when it comes to youth mental health, and helps young people develop the skills and confidence they need to support their own mental health and that of their peers.
